Feeding:

We use McCauley Bros. Feed (www.mccauleybros.com). McCauley Bros. is "Dedicated to Excellence in Equine Nutrition", and their feed mill is located in Versailles, KY. We are currently feeding Original 12. It is a 1/2" pellet that is 12% protein and 3.5% fat.

Their technical staff provides the following services to use:

  • custom feed formulation & manufacturing
  • nutritional problem solving
  • ration evaluation
  • growth rate evaluation
  • weighing horses (as requested)
Current Feeding Schedule:
  • Winter 8am and 4pm
  • Summer 7am and 3pm

Notes: If you feel you need to feed something else, a representative will come out for a consultation and speak with you personally to help you develop a feeding program that is tailored for your horse. During the winter months, we feed grass hay. For horses that are unable to go into the feed program, we are happy to feed whatever you choose. This will be an expense that you will absorb, and you will be responsible for keeping track of your feed (i.e. ordering and delivering). If your horse needs to be fed at a time other than our schedule, notify only management in writing at least 24 hours prior. Feeding of your horse is not permitted outside of this schedule.

Supplements:

We are happy to feed your horse any supplement(s) as instructed. We ask that you use Smart Paks or prepare baggies for and label them with your horse's name and schedule for administration.

Notes: If you do not prepare your own Smart Paks or baggies, there will be an extra charge of $25/ month per horse. It is the responsibility of the owner to refill supplements as needed; management will not be responsible for keeping track of your supplements. Notify only management with any changes to the instructions.

De-Worming:

All horses coming into the farm will automatically be put onto our de-worming schedule which is recommended by Rood and Riddle.

Notes: The day your horse arrives a fecal egg count will be performed (this allows the farm to identify who are low, moderate, or high shedders); then, they are given either Equimax or Quest Plus. Please refer to your New Boarders Packet for more information explaining this new de-worming protocol. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The price for the FECRT will be billed directly through R&R on a monthly cycle. If you would like to administer the de-wormer yourself, you must pick it up and return it to the box at the office after it is given with your horse's name, weight, and date clearly marked. Failure to administer the de-wormer within 10 days will result in an additional minimum fee of $5 for the MLEC staff to administer it.

Extra Services Pricing:

If there is something you need regarding your horse, or if you have suggestions please let us know. We're here to help make your experience a fun, safe, and memorable one.
